Week 3, October 2010

This image has some real history behind it. Not only have the couple been married for 43 years, they've had the car just as long... 43 YEARS!!! Its 1963 Chevy II Nova SS, in complete stock condition. For his 40th birthday, she actually had the car completely restored, without him knowing. Its a classic!

This image has actually been in the works for five years. I did a series of family portraits for the couple 5 years ago. When they came to pick up the prints, I noticed the old car and the creative juices began to flow. The concept was already there, as they'd seen an image in my studio, similar shot with a bride and groom. It was just a matter setting a date. It seemed everytime we got close to setting dates, they were in Arizona. This year, we (they) made it happen. So glad we did! Thanks G & T
