Week 1, May 2010

"Trash the Dress", although not a totally new concept, is one of the newer trends in wedding photography. Basically a "Trash" session is one that lets the bride (and groom) do all the things to the dress that they wouldnt do on the actual wedding day. Of course the dress in this case isn't really trashed, it'll just need a good cleaning.

This was shot just over a week ago in Mexico, the day after their wedding. I have to say, being in Mexico to shoot a wedding is one thing (Thanks again Lisa and Markus for shipping me down there), but shooting the "Trash" session had to be the most fun I've had with a camera in ages!! With such a beautiful backdrop, a willing couple, beautiful light... it was AMAZING!! We had plenty of passers by asking if it was a fashion shoot for a magazine. After all, its not often you see a bride in the water with her dress on, and the photographer standing in the water, chest deep. It was a BLAST!!!!

A few more from the session...
