Band Together

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing an amazing fund raising event for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The evening featured a silent auction with an amazing array of items, a live auction with everything from a lease on a Harley Davidson to an adorable puppy, to a grand performance from an interesting and talented group of musicians. Appropriately named "Band Together" the performers included Paul Hyde (Payolas), Rob Baker (Tragically Hip), Jim Byrnes, Bill Henderson (Chilliwack) and one of my personal favourites, Colin James as the surprise guest.
After a number of individual performances, the stage found room for all of them to jam together for a couple of great tunes. You couldn't help but dance to soulful, bluesy collaboration.

This was the third annual Rockin' for Research that I've donated my services for, they get bigger and better each year. (you may remember about this time last year, I also featured an image of Colin James, from the same
event, in the debut issue of Shot of the Week)

By the end of the night, over $800,000 was raised for the cause. To find out more about the foundation, visit www.jdrf.ca
